6-Paq Scuba

 

The 6-Paq Commitment, our Cancellation Policy, and how it affects you. 

 

The 6-Paq Commitment:1) If we've confirmed your dives by accepting your deposit, we will take you, at the price confirmed when you provided your deposit.  We will run our trip if we can do it safely.  We've made over 99.5% of our trips, and the few we missed were  due to unsafe conditions!  2) We will take the time, all the time that is necessary to make sure that everyone knows what they need to be safe and feel comfortable on their dives.

 

Cancellation Policy.

 

Please only book if you intend to dive! While we understand that things happen, we have to eat too!  Once we reserve your spot, we can’t use it for someone else.  So to hold your space, you provide a 50% nonrefundable deposit, advance payment via cash, check or credit card.

 

By submitting advance payment information, whether we charge or do not charge your card prior to the day of the dive, you agree that you understand that 6-Paq Scuba has limited space and therefore will charge your card for late cancellations, as described below and that you accept this policy and agree to fulfill subsequent charges.

 

Please only book if you intend to dive! Sorry if this seems steep but we have to eat too, and sometimes people forget that their recreation is our bread, butter, and only way to pay the bills!  When you book your trip from home, we often turn away several parties after you book a dive, sometimes a larger party than yours that we committed to take!

 

Our specific cancellation policy:

 

If you book your trip from home, we require at least a 14 day notice of cancellation to avoid a 100% charge to your card.  If you do not call or do not show, there will be a 100% charge to your card.  If you are on a ship and your ship does not make its scheduled St John or St Thomas USVI arrival, you will not be charged.  If you miss your ship or your flight, or arrive on the wrong island, you will need to call within the times outlined to avoid charges.

 

If you book your dives with us once you arrive on island and for any reason you need to reschedule or cancel, you must call 340.776.1057 or our cell phone at 340.626.7700, or email us at cdiededive@6paqscuba.com no later than 72 hours prior to reservation time, to avoid a 100% charge to your credit card.

We apologize for needing to implement these cancellation policies.  We try not to punish the many who do not take advantage because of the few who do; or perhaps better said, we use dolphin-friendly nets!   Yes we will work with you if you have a true need to cancel your dives, and may credit or refund some of your deposit.  However, what constitutes a true need is determined solely at our discretion.  

 If this is you,  "I:   want to keep my options open, often suffer hangovers that preclude diving, frequently develop a stong, last-minute desire to do something other than dive, even if at your Other's or Buddies' insistence, or if you want to see if the sun is shining before deciding to dive, please wait to book until you get here and know that you intend to dive.  We will happily accommodate you if we have space available, often we do not.  Such circumstances creating a need to cancel on your part will not likely constitute a true need justifying a lost payday or a rate increase on our part. 

This is the purpose of the deposit.  To separate those who intend to dive from those who want to have a spot available for them, if for whatever reason they feel like or get an ok to dive when they get here without paying for the spot unless they decide at the last minute to use it.  (Yes people actually do this and we could not stay in business if this happened regularly!)

We apologize for any inconvience this policy creates, and know that those of you who intend to dive will appreciate the diving we offer and our need for this policy.  Please remember that we have to eat too.  Sometimes people forget that their recreation is our bread, butter, and only way to pay the bills.  It is what allows up to keep semi-private diving at near cattle-boat prices available.   Cattleboat operations can withstand more cancellations -- they are set up to go out regularly on trips with space available.  We are not.  We only have a few seats available and need to fill them wisely.  One must somehow separate the sharks from the seals!  This is our humble attempt to do so.
